Ryan Dalton Frost, Michael Lauer Racing

I just wanted to write and say thank you for the wonderful programming you provided last season with the monthly meetings and I’m looking forward to this season as well! Thank you for helping boost my confidence through the programming. I’ve successfully landed myself an interview to become an assistant trainer, currently based out of Turfway [Park]! Talking with industry leaders really helped me put myself out there and I wouldn’t have earned this shadow interview if it wasn’t for participating with Amplify… With the help from the Amplify [Horse Racing Hangout] sessions I gained the confidence and knowledge necessary to succeed!

(We are pleased to share that Ryan was offered the position on the spot to work for trainer Michael Lauer!)

Kirsten Fletcher, JT Racing Stable

I owe a huge thank you to Annise and Amplify for helping me take the next step in my career. Having grown up in a very non-horsey family in Vermont with no connections to racehorses, getting a foot in the door was extremely difficult, especially when I wasn’t sure what exactly I wanted to do. After 2.5 years at a breeding farm in Pennsylvania and a move to New York in my future, I was ready for a change of pace and was looking to expand my skills and knowledge with racehorses. I stumbled upon Amplify and reached out to see if they would be able to help place me in my next job. After only a couple emails with Annise, I was put in contact with a trainer at Belmont Park, and am now the office manager for JT Racing Stable. I will have the opportunity to travel to sales and gain more experience with buying young horses, which I am so excited for! I could not be happier or more grateful for all Amplify has helped me with!”

Tracy Attfield, TLore Management

I began my Thoroughbred racing career during the summers working for my riding instructor’s husband who was a race horse trainer at Delaware Park. He would pick me up every morning and take me to work with him to hotwalk, groom and ride the racehorses. Looking back, I realize how rare and absolutely privileged that opportunity was.

Those high school summers instilled in me a love for the horses, the people and the unique experience the racetrack backside provided me. After graduating from the University of Maryland with an Animal Science degree, I made a beeline back to the racetrack with my only wish to once again work with racehorses.

TLore Management is a company I founded to provide the racing industry with a tool to help manage their racing stables. In building my company, I have benefited greatly from the many connections built over the years along with those I have been fortunate to forge since the start.

Programs such as Amplify can provide other young people with the same early experiences, connecting them with the life and soul of the horses and people involved with racing. A broad range of experiences, dedication, hard work, open minds and a willingness to learn are all imperative traits needed to succeed. Future success of horse racing depends on a healthy respect for existing values and traditions along with a willingness to embrace the ‘new age’ of our industry.

Our survival is dependent on this and Amplify is in the perfect position to assist in this goal.
