From Racehorse to Your Horse: What It Takes to Train a Racehorse and Retrain for a Second Career,” with Amplify and the Retired Racehorse Project

Lexington KY - July 14

Go behind the scenes of the horse racing industry and discover what it takes to develop a Thoroughbred athlete both on and off the track! Join Amplify Horse Racing and the Retired Racehorse Project for a unique educational experience exploring the journey of the Thoroughbred from racehorse to second career partner.

Participants will begin the morning at the Thoroughbred Training Center, where industry professionals including trainer Anna Meah and assistant trainer Kelsey Wallace will introduce the daily routines, teamwork, and skills involved in training racehorses. Then, travel to New Vocations to learn how Thoroughbreds transition into new careers after racing through retraining, rehabilitation, and rehoming.

The experience will include live demonstrations, interactive discussion, giveaways, and the chance to connect with professionals working across multiple areas of the industry. Whether you’re interested in the training process, getting a former racehorse, or you already ride a Thoroughbred, this program offers a firsthand look at the versatility and lifelong potential of the breed.
