Prairie Meadows, located just outside Des Moines in Altoona, Iowa, is home to both Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing. Since opening in 1989, it has been a hub for Midwest racing fans, hosting a mixed meet that runs through the summer months. With its season ending on September 28, Closing Day marks the conclusion of another exciting meet, showcasing regional talent and championship racing in Iowa.
