Morton Urban Equine

Hawthorne Race Course - Cicero, Illinois - June 9-12

The Morton Urban Equine Program returns this summer to Hawthorne Race Course in Cicero, Illinois, offering local high school students a unique, hands-on introduction to the Thoroughbred industry. In partnership with the Illinois Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association and Morton High School District 201, students will explore careers in racing, veterinary medicine, and horse care through interactive learning experiences at the racetrack. Participants will have the opportunity to meet horses up close, learn from industry professionals, and experience the daily operations of a working racetrack firsthand. This impactful program is designed to connect urban youth with horses, education, and new career possibilities.
