Keeneland Library Associate
Support the Library Department with a variety of projects related to cataloging, collections management, research, and outreach. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with historical and contemporary resources in the Thoroughbred industry.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Provide front desk coverage and assist library patrons

  • Conduct serials indexing and build industry research files

  • Support creation and maintenance of digital repositories

  • Accession, catalog, and ingest new acquisitions

  • Process and organize archival collections

  • Index still image collections using metadata standards

  • Participate in research, collections management, and preservation projects

  • Assist with community and industry outreach initiatives

  • Support physical and virtual exhibits, and library promotions

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong customer service and research abilities

  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

  • Proficiency in library systems, digital asset management tools, and related technologies

  • Knowledge of emerging trends in library research and special collections

  • Familiarity with the Thoroughbred breeding and racing industry preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Equine Studies, Communications, Education, History, or related field

  • 2–3 years of experience in a library, museum, or cultural organization

  • 1–3 years of experience in or adjacent to the Thoroughbred industry

$20.00 per hour
